Confidant
Trust, dependance, and defense are three words that challenge creatures to form bonds. Animals clearly display this characteristic. God wants his children to trust Him and depend on His protection and guidance. The Old Testament offers this: "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go." Joshua 1:9; Jesus offers His promise of ultimate protection differently: "But when the Helper comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth, who proceeds from the Father, he will bear witness about me." Jn. 15:26 (ESV)
